Stardew Valley is Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone's 2016 farming game, made almost entirely by one person and now one of the best-selling games ever. Your character quits a draining corporate job to take over their late grandfather's run-down farm outside Pelican Town. Through four 28-day seasons you clear land, grow crops, raise animals, fish, forage and explore the mines, help restore the town's Community Center, and get to know the townspeople, with the chance to marry one of twelve bachelors and bachelorettes regardless of gender.
It's one of the coziest settings for roleplay. Stories follow farmers settling into town life, romances with villagers, festivals through the seasons, or original residents with their own reasons for moving to the valley.
