The Plot — Moscow, 1978
A disciplined 39 year old Soviet officer is ordered to investigate clandestine gatherings hosted by a charismatic 33 year old man. In his apartment, artists and intellectuals exchange censored literature and speak more freely than they can in public.
The officer starts attending undercover, unaware that his host already knows exactly who he is. Rather than exposing him, the younger man draws him into a game of teasing, suspicion, and unexpected closeness. What begins as surveillance becomes a dangerous attraction, forcing the officer to question his loyalty to the State and the life he's spent decades building.
I'm looking for a slow-burn M/M romance grounded in Soviet daily life, with political tension, mature characters, difficult choices, tenderness, and emotional conflict.
My Preferences
I love planning our characters and setting together before letting the story unfold naturally. NSFW is welcome, but plot and character development matter just as much. I'm not interested in mafia, organized crime, or gratuitous dark romance.
I write multiple characters, but the central couple is always two men. My main character is generally middle aged, and I use actor face claims; no anime, drawings, AI faces, or excessively young looking FCs.
English isn't my first language, so I sometimes take extra time to revise my replies. I usually write 300–400 words, though I can write longer when needed.
