For general inquiries, leave a message in #ask_the_staff. If you don’t feel comfortable asking your question out in the open, feel free to DM a staff member. For server suggestions or ideas, drop a message in #suggestions.

We take the comfort and safety of our members very seriously. If someone does something that makes you uncomfortable, raises your red flags, or does something to break our rules -- contact us immediately. We always suggest reaching out if you’re unsure about an interaction you had with one of our members.

Do you have the @looking | dms open role? This means you are open to any unsolicited DM's. If you have the @neutral | advert only role, you are only looking for DM's related to your advert. Any time you receive a message unrelated to an advert you posted, you have a few options in front of you. If the DM contains content against our rules, you should immediately notify a staff member via DM. Barring that, simply remind the user that unsolicited DMs are against RPC’s rules. Feel free to let us know if this happens too! If the situation escalates and you feel you are being harassed, we encourage you to notify a staff member and make good use of your block button.

We do not allow self-promotion of any type on our server. There are many places out there on the internet to spread the word about the awesome things you’re doing; RPC is not one of them.

Similar to the above, we do not allow for any sort of solicitation on the server. There are other spaces to find artists, Jcink coders, etc. If you’re looking to trade money for goods you’ll need to find somewhere else to ask.

Yes! Pop into #ask_the_staff and simply type “invite link”. Our bot will generate the link for you to copy/paste.

Usually, people can’t post in the advert channels for one of two reasons: 1) you do not have either the looking or neutral role or, 2) you have been muted due to infractions. For the first, pop over to #get_roles and claim one of those roles. In the case of the second, you should have received a message from a bot or staff member detailing your infraction. Read up on the rules and, if you still have questions, reach out to staff in #ask_the_staff or through DMs.

RPC began as a website. This was sunsetted in early 2023 to allow us to work on new and exciting projects based on our discord server.

As stated in the rules, you will need to fill out the age verification form, linked here.

Age verification is done manually by a staff member. Depending on that staff member’s availability, it can take anywhere from 24 hours to a week to be verified. We ask that you be patient, only checking in if a full week since your submission has passed.

Most times this happens with former RPC members who have decided to rejoin the server. If this is you, simply drop a line in #ask_the_staff and let us know. We will get your roles reinstated as soon as we can.

If RPC becomes aware of an age discrepancy from what you’ve said, we will ask you for additional verification. This requires submitting a picture of your photo ID with everything but your date of birth blacked out. We operate in good faith, assuming first that any discrepancies are the result of typos. With that said, we take refusal to verify very seriously.

This is entirely case dependent. For some, refusing to verify results in losing the NSFW/18+ channel access. In cases where we believe there is a risk to our members, we will ban you.

Some examples of bullying would be name calling, inappropriate commentary, use of derogatory slang terms, hate speech, bigotry, and harassment. Harassment includes, but is not limited to: repeated attempts to contact someone after they’ve said they’re not interested and retaliatory acts against members that have reported suspicious or bannable activity to the RPC staff. This is by no means an exhaustive list of what RPC might consider bullying.

We understand that not all instances of these topics are necessarily negative, we find that they can be cause for negative discourse and that has no place on our server.

At RPC, we focus on promoting a fun and engaging community where everyone can feel welcomed and enjoy the time they spend here. We believe in maintaining an environment focused on positivity. To put it frankly, neither RPC’s staff nor members are equipped to handle excessive negativity or mental health struggles. We’ve put together a Google Doc here that has a list of resources should you find yourself in need of support.

Trolling includes, but is not limited to: spamming, abusing the bots, posting unrelated to the topic at hand, venting excessively, not providing meaningful contribution to the conversation, and continuing an action after being asked to cease by a member of the staff.

RPC applies a blanket rule that all NSFW content must be written by writers over the age of 18, regardless of where you or your partner is from.

Shades of blue and dark purple are staff members. For members, there are three self-assignable colors: green, turquoise, and red. Green indicates you're @looking | dms open, turquoise is @neutral | advert only, and red means you're @not looking | dms closed. You must have either the looking or neutral role to post in our advert channels. Yellow was a specialty role reserved for RPGold members (this role has now been retired). Shades of pink are partners and affiliates.

We have a system of warnings. We typically employ a three-strike rule regarding conduct-related warnings. (These are different than advertising-related infractions.) Your first warning is a verbal slap on the wrist by a staff member. Your second warning is formal, sent via DM from our bot. Your third strike is banishment from our server. Keep in mind that the staff reserves the right to ban you at any point, with or without these warnings, at our own discretion.

Yes. To be frank, the reason why you age yourself up or down doesn’t matter to us. Lying about your age prevents our members from making roleplay decisions that are right for them.

Please keep in mind that this is a primarily SFW board. No lewd or sexual content will be permitted outside of the proper channels. RPC is a 15+ server. We follow common U.S. laws regarding age of consent (we consider 18+ to be ‘legal’). If you wish to conduct 18+ discussions, please take them off our server or into the appropriate channels.

Underage characters utilized in erotic roleplay is both against our rules and against Discord ToS. Mention of them in an advert or in any sort of off-site link/kink list is strictly prohibited. If staff finds underage content on off-site links, you will be asked to either remove it from your link or remove the link altogether. Repeated infractions of this nature will result in removal of your NSFW access and/or banishment from the server.

The NSFW channels are dedicated to NSFW-heavy content, extremes, and kinks. While we usually allow self-moderation, you must add spoiler tags if the staff reaches out to you. There may be some topics that you are not comfortable with. In cases such as those, we implore you to ignore them, keep scrolling, and move on with your day. Everyone has different preferences and interests that we should all respect. We will not be utilizing trigger warnings in these channels. Continue at your own risk.

By posting in our advertisement channels, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to the above “disclaimer” paragraphs.

To keep it brief we suggest thinking about your potential RP like it’s a movie. Ask yourself, “If this were a movie, would it be rated R or higher?” If the answer is yes, the advert should go to NSFW channels. Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
If you intend to include a kink list, yes.
If you intend to include a limits list, yes.
If you are looking for more than a 50:50 smut-to-story ratio, yes.
If you are looking for excessive violence, yes.
If you are looking for intense, dark themes, yes.

A quick search will only contain the most basic information. Take this example from one of our staff members:
Howdy howdy! I am on a massive high fantasy kick right now. Give me dragons, give me complicated politics, give me magic -- I want it all. Would love to do something with a dragon rider and a shifter, but if that’s not your cup of tea I’m open to other ideas! My reply speed truly does vary week by week. I average 3-5 paragraphs. Love sharing character inspo and headcanons back and forth. Shoot a DM if this interests you at all!

If this idea was posted in the advert channel, it would be expanded. A few possibilities include specific prompt ideas, links to character docs, links to writing samples, requirements for roleplay, timezone and availability, or a bit about the poster.

Generally, we only allow for links to Google Docs, Carrd, Discord servers, and Forums. Always exercise caution when clicking on a link that does not lead to one of these four places.

Yes, you do. We suggest putting information that doesn’t fall within that limit into a Google Doc.
