Advert Rules

1. To post in our advert channels, you must have either the @looking | dms open or the @neutral | advert only role. If you change your status to @not looking | dms closed closed any current adverts will be deleted by the staff. To change or set your current role please use our #get_roles channel. It is never acceptable to DM someone with @not looking | dms closed. Similarly, you may only reach out to @neutral | advert only only with requests related to their posted adverts.

2. All advertisements posted in our general search channels must be Safe For Work (SFW). You can solicit for roleplays with Not Safe For Work (NSFW) themes, but your post itself must read as SFW. RPC is a 15+ server. For additional clarity on what is classified as NSFW, please see our FAQ.

3. If you are a minor, you cannot solicit for NSFW roleplays at all. It sucks, I know, but it's a legal liability to those of legal age on the server. If you are a minor and an adult is soliciting you for NSFW roleplay, notify the staff immediately. If you are found to be soliciting NSFW roleplays as a minor or lying about your age, you will be removed from the server for the protection of our members.

4. Do not solicit minors for NSFW content, regardless of the age of consent where you or the minor are from. If you learn that the person you’re contacting is a minor only after soliciting them for NSFW content, please withdraw your offer immediately, regardless of whether or not they’re okay with it, and contact a member of the staff.

5. Reposts are limited to once every 4 days for 1x1 and 7 days for groups. Whether it’s a repost or a new idea, once you successfully post you’ll automatically start your 4 or 7 day cooldown period in that channel. You will be unable to post again until this time period is up. If you need to change your post, use the edit function.

6. You are allowed one post per channel. You must delete previous posts before creating new ones or our bot will remove it and let you know in DMs that you have a post already up. Old posts must be removed before it allows you to post a new ad.

7. You cannot have the same post in multiple channels. Your posts must be distinctly different from each other, even if it's just listing genres versus fandoms in the companion channels.

8. The advert channels are not for discussion. Do not chatter in the search channels or post things like @user can I DM you? We do not have an ask to DM policy; please check their roles.

9. Do not DM members for something they aren't looking for. It is assumed that anyone with an advert posted is open to what they indicated in their advert only. Do not DM-advertise your one on one or server roleplay if they have not specifically requested it.

10. If you leave the server, your content is deleted. To prevent drive-by posting, if you leave the server, your advertisements are immediately removed. No exceptions.

11. Please do not use headers in any adverts. This is to keep the channels neat and tidy.

12. Alt accounts are not allowed. If any alt accounts are found on the server, they (and possibly your main account) will be banned.

These channels are designed for shorter advertisements and small blurbs regarding a current craving or interest. These posts go into less detail than a standard advertisement and contain only vital information to the story, such as: genre, basic idea, and character dynamics.

1. Posts should be no longer than 100 words. If you break our limit, our bot will delete your post, send it back to you, and then yell at you in DMs. You will be given the opportunity to adjust your post and try again.

2. Posts should contain no long lists, links, or images. If your post contains any of these things, it will be deleted and DM'd back to you for adjustments.

3. Reaction tags are required in these channels. We have a list of quick reactions at the bottom of this channel that you can utilize to show people your interests and requirements ‘at a glance’, allowing for shorter posts.

Quick Search Channels

These channels are designed for personal one on one roleplay adverts between two people. The adverts posted here should go into more detail than a quick search and it is recommended that they include as much detail as possible, including but not limited to: preferences for a partner, type of plot or characters desired, expectations, and any additional information you deem essential. Quick reactions are not required, but we recommend you use them!

1. Posts cannot exceed the 2,000 character Discord limit. If your post will exceed this, we suggest either shortening it or linking to a Google Doc. However, you cannot post just a link -- you must include a blurb or eye-catching paragraph with it. Provide at least some basic information like genres, pairings, response rate and length, etc. if including a link so others can see at a glance what you're looking for before deciding to click. If you exceed this limit, our bot will remove your post and DM you the issue. You'll be given the opportunity to adjust it and try posting again.

2. No images or excessive spacing within adverts. 'Excessive' spacing also includes long lists of ideas, fandoms, or ships.

3. Please be specific as to what fandoms you'd like to explore when posting in the fandom-related channels. Include whether you would like to play canon or original characters, who you're interested in playing (or playing against), and the ships you're hoping to include.

The NSFW search sections are intended for roleplay searches that are a higher 'smut to story' ratio than a typical plot, will include dark themes not suitable for all ages and sensibilities, or are kink-specific searches. This section is also for those who want to only advertise to our age tagged 18+ users. If this is something you would rather not participate in, but would still like to retain your age role, you can toggle the NSFW role off and on in #get_roles.

All of the rules in #advert_rules apply here in addition to the following:

1. No minor characters or writers (defined as below the age of 18 without exception) allowed. If you intend to write fandom characters that are canonically underage, you must state that they will be 'aged up' appropriately.

2. Extreme kinks should be placed in spoiler tags. If you’re not sure if it’s an “extreme” kink or not, go ahead and tag it. It’s better to be safe than sorry. To utilize a ||spoiler tag||, place || on either side of your word/phrase.

3. External links are limited to approved sites: Google Docs; Carrd; and Tumblr. If you want to post a link that is not included, DM an administrator to gain approval.

4. You must respect listed limits; these are non-negotiable. If you are found to be soliciting kinks or situations from a member that are contrary to their limits, you will be removed from the NSFW section.

NSFW Search Channels

The group search channels are designed for group roleplays and those looking to create, staff, or join them. These channels are not restricted to Discord groups and external forums / platforms are welcome.

Include in your post: overarching plot, genre, age restrictions, word count requirements, and if your server includes NSFW themes.

1. You must have the @group advertiser to post in the group search channels. This can be found in #get_roles.**

**2. External links are permitted and encouraged. Expired or broken links must be replaced with valid ones within 24 hours of being @'d by staff. Failure to do this will result in the deletion of your post and the inability to repost until your cooldown is up.

3. SFW images are permitted. You may include a banner, logo, or title image as a header and one additional image that conveys the theme or setting of your group.

4. You may not solicit for your server in DMs. The only exception to this rule is if you are responding to a request in the #seeking_groups channel, about their request only. DM solicitation outside of this exception is a bannable offense.

5. In these channels, you are allowed only one post per user per server. If you own or are an advertiser for multiple servers, you will have to bring in another user to advertise for each.

6. If your server is NSFW or 18+, your advert must be SFW. Additionally, the server itself needs to contain an age gate and/or content warnings. We have our #18⁺_groups channel for those that are heavily NSFW or wish to only advertise to our age tagged users.

7. Reposts in #original_groups and #fandom_groups are limited to once a week. Please note this is a longer cooldown period than our one-on-one advert channels.

Seeking Groups & Seeking Staff:
These channels are specifically for users who are seeking a specific type of group, or for server owners looking for staff.

In #seeking_groups, you should only post if you are open to receiving DMs with suggestions for servers or invites to group roleplays.

In #seeking_staff, you should only post if you are a server owner or admin/moderator looking to create or staff your group roleplay or server. You may need help with development, lore, infrastructure, or staffing. You should only post in this channel if you are open to DMs from interested parties.

If you are hosting or starting multiple group roleplays, you may post more than one advert in this section at a time in search of staff or assistance.

You must delete any previous adverts for the same ad before reposting. Failure to do so will result in an infraction.

Quick reaction tags allow a user to see a post "at a glance," highlighting vital information such as genres, pairings, and age expectations. They are required additions to your adverts in both the quick search channels: #quick_originals and #quick_fandoms. Please use a MINIMUM of 3 reactions in your quick posts.

Only the poster and moderation staff may add reactions to an advert.
