A text based roleplay revolving around mechs and giant monsters
Come and join the ranks of the SPEAR Program and fight against the Chomotourgos to save the world.
The year is 2044. A brutal war ravages the world. Giant, hundreds feet tall mechs called SPEARS stand vanguard against giant worms known as the Chomotourgos, which first appeared in Athens, Greece, the site of the World's largest nuclear plant to date, in June of 2037. In the first attack, walking tanks known as DAGGERs were deployed.
The first worm was destroyed by the militaries of the world (which while capable of dispatching the gigantic worms at great cost) were inadequate defense against this new threat, and afterward Athens rebuilt to Athens-2. During this, plans for mechs to combat extraterrestrial megafauna were brought out of storage and seriously considered as viable to defeat the worms.
These giant mechs were improved for the modern age and with the development of the B.L.A.D.E Organization, dubbed SPEARs. The First SPEAR, piloted by Christan Alverez, destroyed the second worm, proving to the world that SPEARS were viable forms of protection.
The third worm attacked in January of 2038, hitting Naperville in Illinois, but it was killed before it could reach Dresden Station.
Four months later, a new worm emerged underneath Dresden Station, destroying it and consuming the large amounts of nuclear material stored there, before vanishing. First Generation SPEARS were only be stationed in the countries of major powers due to their cost and perceived ineffectiveness due to their design. A new, more effective design of SPEAR would justify this cost and allow other locations to be shielded under humanity's unity.
